Free CAD Files Are Popular
When we at Good Millwork tell people they can download a CAD file of a molding for free, we are usually met with surprise and a little suspicion. “What is the catch?” There isn’t one. Once people understand that the files really are free, they happily search for what they need.
In January, the most popular search was for case molding. Since we have 175 types of case molding in our database, that is not surprising. Of course, we will also create custom case molding profiles to match a historic piece or just your dream of how it should look.
The next most popular search was base molding. The most popular search for base molding was for profiles sized between 4.5-5.5 inches. A search where the minimum was 0 and the maximum was 5.5 was also very popular. Finally, large base molding between 6.5-8.5 also made an appearance in the top ten searches for the month.
Crown molding was examined in several sizes. The most popular was 3-5 inches. Four to six inches also made an appearance in the top ten.
The top ten most popular searches were rounded out with panel moulds, fluted molding, and trim. As you can see, the molding search tool has a number of different types of architectural molding in it. Just put in the type you want, and the dimensions, and you get choices to pick from. Pick the one you want and download the CAD file. It is that simple.
