SMALL CHANGES TO CREATE A GRAND ENTRY
I love spending time helping clients make their home a warm welcoming place to be. I have learned over the years that just a few positive changes can make a big difference in a home and the way a client feels about their environment. A new rug, a new piece of art, re-positioning the furniture the client already has; there are so many ways that small improvements can make a big difference!!

Last year I employed a professional wardrobe consultant to help me edit my closet, because I wanted a new look. She guided me on recycling the tired pieces and guided me on new perfect purchases that enhanced my new look. She knew what would look good on me and where to get it. After this experience, I realized two important things: first this is something that I could not do myself as well as Bethany could do it for me and with me and second, this is exactly what I do for my clients in their homes.
When doing a home makeover, I love to start with a client’s entry because it is the first impression that greets a guest as they enter a home. I like to think of the entry as an introductory example of the client’s personality and persona for living. Unfortunately, many times the entry way becomes a dumping ground for the family’s “stuff.” Therefore, my first task is to help clients take a fresh look at the space. In doing so we are most often able to quickly make a few changes that reap big visual results!
Adding a wonderful piece such as a great console and mirror or a unique bench and wonderful piece of art can reflect ones personal taste and set a tone for the entire house. It is a good idea to include a light source to add life to the entry space at night. Put the lamp or sconces on a timer so it comes on to create the ambiance you desire and greets you as you come home after dark.
Many times homeowners only think of hiring a designer for the major remodel or complete overhaul of a room. However, as a designer it is equally rewarding for me to help clients make a few small changes to make the most of their space. It makes me happy to know that clients experience the same joy and satisfaction about their homes that I felt about my closet and my new look!
