Lamps are known to play an integral role in perking up homes but Doimo takes it a notch higher by improving the usual lamp shades with some wool. These are aptly called the Miss Wool Lamps which are part of Doimo’s Season 4 collection, promising to add some life into your home interiors and rooms.
The wool lamps are knitted into perfection, covered in wonderfully knitted wool materials which can be removed when required and are totally washable.
The lampshade is covered in a tubular knitted wool accessory that can be conveniently removed and washed. The elegant little bow makes this Miss extra charming. T

As I wrote recently on GardenRant, I thought Id never leave my current garden, which after 26 years under my sometimes haphazard direction is looking pretty much done. But for reasons I explained in that Rant post and in Susan Reimers column in the Baltimore Sun, Ive decided to move. And news flash Ive bought my next house! Its a co-op townhouse in historic Greenbelt, MD, one thats just the right size for me, with right-size front and back yards, too.
I wont be moving right away gotta sell my current home first, and have some work done in the new place (total re-do of the kitchen and bath). But come late winter or early spring, Ill be doing total make-overs of these gardens, starting with ripping out the lawn in the photos above. Ill add seating to the front yard, too, because its a quiet spot that overlooks not a street but a small parking area shared by 12 homes that comprise our court.

In the back, photos above and below, Ill add a screened-in porch across the entire house before I start planning the garden. Theres one fabulous plant here that Ill be keeping a large Japanese maple but otherwise, its pretty much a blank slate. (Goody!)
But theres more a large, flat grassy open area thats shared by the 12 homeowners perfect for badminton! Dont laugh that and swimming competitively were the primary sports of my youth, though in the case of badminton it was all fun, no pressure, and the perfect after-dinner pastime with the family. The open area is also prime for some new shrubs around its perimeter which Ive already brainstormed about with my new next-door neighbor a gardening Englishwoman. Perfect.

Cascada means waterfall. But there’s not a drop of H2O falling on visitors to the Cascada exhibit in Quito, Ecuador. The 52-foot-tall installation is part of an interactive sensory experience that leaves viewers surprised that they’re still dry, and, as the idea goes, in dire need of a Coca-Cola.
The global soft drink titan teamed up with London-based production studio Nexus Interactive Arts to create what both partners are calling the largest interactive screen ever. After eight months of preparation and construction, the installation launches November 17 at the El Condado shopping center in Quito, Ecuador. Beyond just a visual spectacle, the waterfall is designed to provide an immersive experience, a feedback loop of happiness. I

Whether you’re updating your house’s siding, making much-needed roof repairs or finally installing those bay windows, major home improvement projects can bring added value and beauty to your home.
They can also bring construction workers for days at time.
The presence of construction teams is certainly necessary; after all, their skill and expertise ensure that projects are completed thoroughly, on time and within budget. However, the constant shuffle of workers in and out of your home can add extra stress on your home’s septic system. Toilet flushes and sinks running can cause water bills to escalate quickly. Plus,

Chief of Missions Residence
(1946) The main dining room admirably combines the Sheraton table with comfortable Chippendale chairs, ivory-colored upholsteries. The mahogany furniture harmonizes with pearl gray of the walls, giving a hint of color to the sumptuous gold-yellow window curtains. A screen etched with screens from a Colonial-era hunt, together with the black and silver Chinese-style Chippendale chandeliers; highlight the original layout of this magnificent overall decoration.
